RoCM Playlist: 29 Mar 2025

So a big shout out to fellow KCSB programmer Sarah with an H who hosts Jazz Jazz Revolution on airing Sundays at 6am. She was kind enough to mention RoCM as part of her programmer spotlight on KCSB-FM Instagram page.

The late great Kalaparusha Maurice McIntyre had a birthday this past week, so we listen to a track from his album Peace and Blessings. We have new music from William Hooker as well as previously unreleased material from Rashied Ali with Frank Lowe that was made available in late January.

We round out the show with a number of artist – Nimbus West Records artist Dadisi Komolafe and free jazz bassoonist Karen Borca are alongside regular show contributors of the Art Ensemble of Chicago. A happy birthday to the talented Rachel Therrien who is celebrating her 38th birthday today so we feature a track from her album Mi Hogar. And we have Azar Lawrence, Rudolph Johnson, and Sam Rivers to round things out.

Here is the playlist. Don’t forget that you can listen to the RoCM online at KCSB-FM’s website and there’s an online archive available for two weeks after the show airs.
