RoCM Playlist: 22 Mar 2025
So a completely unrelated jazz note – if you are not a fan of the TV show Severance on AppleTV, I highly suggest checking it out. That season 2 finale last night was one of the best episodes of television ever – and that includes a lot of ground. Just a tremendous show.
Anyway… a great RoCM show this week featuring a number of tracks from albums I’ve never featured before… so with exception of the Toms, all new music this week. We have Charles Gayle in trio form along side Dominic Duval and Arkadijus Gotesmanas. Bobby Few is included with a hauntingly beautiful solo offering, with Alan Silva, taking a break from the double bass to hit some other instruments and closing out the first our.
The second hour we have a track by Joe Mcphee and his quartet followed by Charles Moffett with a live performance by Archie Shepp to close us out.
Admittedly, this is one of the stronger shows over the last few weeks. Really great stuff here.
Here is the playlist. Don’t forget that you can listen to the RoCM online at KCSB-FM’s website and there’s an online archive available for two weeks after the show airs.
