RoCM Playlist: 16 Nov 2024

So after a series of technical issues, re-airs, hardware failures, and election day disasters – okay, that last one is slightly unrelated – we are finally back with a brand new show.

This week, it’s back to basics with a lot of favorites with tracks from the Revolutionary Ensemble and the Ethnic Heritage Ensemble and a belated nod to the anniversary of the recording of Alice Coltrane‘s Journey in Satchidananda which was recorded 54 years ago as of November 8th. We don’t get too political during this show, but we do hear a musical commentary recorded during the first Trump administration by the late jaimie branch. And we lean into the first hour with a son-father themed set with tracks by Makaya McCraven followed by Stephen McCraven. And then a few other tunes round out the show.

Hopefully, the show will be back on track for the foreseeable future with no more technical issues. Yeah…

One last note, BlueSky Social is starting to gain some steam as a viable exTwitter alternative, so feel free to hit me up there: coolmojo.com

Don’t forget that you can listen to the RoCM online at KCSB-FM’s website and there’s an online archive available for two weeks after the show airs.
