RoCM Playlist: 29 Apr 2023
I am really trying to avoid turning this website into a virtual cemetery for the recently departed but there is just so much of this happening as of late that it’s becoming a tad difficult – and more than a little depressing – having all of these RIPs. What can you do…
So more sad news this week as we lost Harry Belafonte. The year’s been rough, man… I mean, he did make it to 97 so it was a heck of a run, but we’ve lost more than a few musicians and it is still only April so this year is not really being kind thus far on that score.
I don’t know if we’ll ever see an artist like him again – truely a once in a generational talent. Sigh…
So the first song on this show is the opening song to his Live performance for the BBC from 1977 – and I highly recommend the watching the entire performance. It’s truly something…
And with that, here’s the playlist for this week. Don’t forget that you can listen online at KCSB-FM’s website and there’s an online archive available for two weeks after the show airs.
