RoCM Playlist: 25 Mar 2023
So as I mentioned to open the show, I recently had a couple of follow up colonoscopies after my first one back in October revealed a growth that alarmed my doctors. The good news is that I am all clear as of this past Monday – but if you’re over the age of 45, which is now the recommended age for your first colonoscopy, please talk to your doctor about getting checked out. I saved myself a lot of potential issues by not waiting until after I turned 50. Had I waited, according to my doctors, I would have most likely had some form of cancer so I really dodged a huge bullet by not putting it off.
Anyway, enough about my colon (ahem) – on with the show…
So two birthdays today – the late, great Cecil Taylor – who was born on this day in 1929 and the late, great Aretha Franklin who was born on this day in 1942.
We have a few other birthdays this week as well – Chad Taylor (March 19th), Fred Anderson (March 22nd), and Amina Claudine Myers (March 21st) – as well as some great tunes by other folks as well.
So here is the playlist for this week – I am working on a new formatting that includes the musicians that play on the track – we’ll see how this works out.
