RoCM Playlist: 4 Feb 2023

So we’re finally through my least favorite month of the year in January and into my second least favorite month of the year in February – and on the off-chance you think I am being a tad bit melodramatic, here’s the temperature that I woke up to this morning.

Check out that low temp… ain’t that a scene, man?

And to make matters worse, our kitchen pipes froze this morning so I had a bit of a panic in trying to thaw everything out. For those not “in the know”, when pipes freeze and are left unattended they tend to break and that is, to use a phrase used by the locals, “really fucking bad”. Fortunately, it seems that we dodged that bullet, and everything thawed out without additional drama – but to say that it made for an exciting morning would be an understatement.

They most certainly do not put “frozen pipes” on the Long Island brochure they hand you when you move here – but then again it’s mostly a list of pizza places and reasons to hate NYC.

Anyway, please allow me to live vicariously through my Santa Barbara listeners and imagine sitting on Hendry’s or Leadbetter beach with a fine beverage and enjoying the view. To paraphrase the band Shalamar, you won’t miss [it] until it’s gone.

And here’s the link to the film New York Eye & Ear Control that I mentioned during the show:

And with that, here’s the the playlist for this week…
